Is there any sin in treating the wife of an older brother towards her husband's brother (who is the brother of her brother from breastfeeding) as her own brother, and treating her husband's sisters towards her brother as their own brother, and are the daughters of her sisters considered mahram to her husband's brother, and what is the ruling on a mother breastfeeding her younger brother upon the son of her maternal aunt's daughter, and is he then considered a brother to everyone?
It is established from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that breastfeeding prohibits what lineage prohibits. So, if a child suckles from a woman five complete breastfeedings within the first two years of life, she becomes a mother to him through breastfeeding, and her children become his siblings through breastfeeding. Therefore, if the questioner's mother breastfed her husband's brother, he becomes a brother to her and her sisters and their daughters, but his brothers are not considered brothers to them. However, if he suckled with the questioner's brother from another woman other than their mother, then he is a stranger to her and her sisters. And the son of the daughter of the questioner's mother's maternal aunt has become a brother to all her sisters through breastfeeding.
