What is the ruling on a Muslim taking a non-interest loan from Christian churches?

Dealing with disbelievers through loans or sales is permissible. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, borrowed a weapon from Safwan ibn Umayyah and bought food from Jews. This applies equally to their private and public funds. However, it is more appropriate for a Muslim, especially in this era, to avoid dealing with followers of churches through loans or otherwise, because they use their loans as a means to proselytize for their religion, in confirmation of His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to avert [people] from the way of Allah."
