The answer

Scholars differ concerning the custody of a girl after the age of seven: some hold that it belongs to her father, some give her the choice, and others believe the mother's right continues.

If custody ends at puberty, and you are a mature adult, there is no harm in you residing with your mother, based on the statement of Ibn Qudamah: "Custody is established only over a child or a mentally infirm person. As for a mature adult, there is no custody over them, and they have the choice to reside with whichever of their parents they wish." However, a mature girl should not live alone; her father or guardian may prevent her from doing so for her protection.

In cases of dispute regarding custody matters, the Islamic judge (Qadi) is to be consulted for a ruling. In any case, you must show dutifulness and kindness to both your parents, and it is not permissible for you to sever ties with them, no matter the circumstances.
