The answer

If it is customary to waive compensation and no wage has been agreed upon, then the son has no right to demand wages for his work with his father. However, if they agreed upon a wage, or if it was customary, then he has the right to demand it.

As for the money he spent on the land, if he spent it as a donation, he has no right to demand it back. But if he spent it with the intention of being reimbursed, then he has the right to demand it. It is advisable to refer to the scholars of the land regarding matters where customs and traditions are considered.
