Is it permissible to delay the circumambulation of Ifadah so that it may be performed as a single circumambulation with the farewell circumambulation before departing Makkah?

It is permissible to delay the circumambulation of Ifadah (Tawaf al-Ifadah) so that one circumambulation suffices for both Ifadah and Farewell (Tawaf al-Wada'). However, it is preferable to perform two circumambulations. The most complete way is to perform Tawaf al-Ifadah on the day of Eid after stoning Jamrat al-Aqabah, offering the sacrifice (hady), and shaving or shortening the hair. Then, Tawaf al-Wada' is performed upon departing Mecca. This is what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did. Sheikh Ibn Baz issued a fatwa permitting this, stating that Tawaf al-Ifadah suffices for Tawaf al-Wada' if it is performed upon departure after stoning the pillars and completing everything else. If one performs both, it is even better. One circumambulation with the intention of the Hajj circumambulation is sufficient.
