Is a farewell circumambulation (tawaf al-wada’) or a compensatory sacrifice (dam) required of one who threw the pebbles at Jamrat al-Aqabah and performed the circumambulation of Ifadah along with the farewell circumambulation on the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr), then returned to Jeddah, then spent the night in Mina on the eleventh night and threw its pebbles, then returned to Jeddah, then spent the night there on the twelfth night and threw its pebbles, then returned to Jeddah?

It is sunnah for the pilgrim to stay in Mina during the day, and it is permissible for him to leave it out of necessity, and this does not invalidate his Hajj. It is preferable to stay there day and night.

The farewell circumambulation (Tawaf al-Wada') occurs after the completion of all rituals and it is not valid to perform it earlier. Whoever performs it before completing the rituals, it is not sufficient for him. It is permissible to delay the circumambulation of overflowing (Tawaf al-Ifadah) until the time of farewell.

The farewell circumambulation you performed is incorrect. Your departure to Jeddah after the rituals without performing the circumambulation necessitates a compensatory sacrifice (dam) upon you (a sheep to be slaughtered in the Haram and distributed to the poor). Similarly, your wife is liable for a compensatory sacrifice unless she was menstruating at the time of farewell, as a menstruating woman is exempt from the farewell circumambulation.

Your return to perform the circumambulation now does not absolve you of the compensatory sacrifice, because you left Mecca without a farewell circumambulation.
