Is the Farewell Tawaf considered valid for those who hastened in throwing the pebbles (rami al-jamarat) and departed Mina, then spent the night in Mecca before heading to Jeddah, or is a sacrifice (dam) incumbent upon them?

If it was possible to depart from Makkah after the Farewell Circumambulation (Tawaf al-Wada'), but they intentionally slept afterwards for rest, then it must be repeated by those who have not reached the distance of Qasr (shortening prayers), such as the people of Jeddah. A compensatory sacrifice (dam) is required from those who have exceeded the distance of Qasr, such as the people of Riyadh.

However, if they were delayed from traveling after the Farewell Circumambulation due to an involuntary matter (such as a bus delay or a flight delay), they do not need to repeat the Farewell Circumambulation.

Whoever reached Jeddah must return for the Farewell Circumambulation, and whoever was in Riyadh owes a compensatory sacrifice (dam).
