ما معنى أيلة؟

Ayla is an ancient city mentioned in the Prophetic Hadith, located at the edge of the Qulzum Sea (Red Sea) from the Syrian side. It is now in ruins, through which pilgrims from Egypt and Gaza pass. The famous Aqaba, known to Egyptians, is attributed to it. The distance between it and the Prophet's City (Madinah) is estimated to be about a month's journey for heavy loads. It is believed to be what is now known as Eilat in Palestine.
