What is the meaning of "nuḥūrihim" in "O Allah, we place You against their throats (nuḥūrihim) and seek refuge in You from their evils"?

The meaning of "O Allah, we place You in front of them" (اللهم إنا نجعلك في نحورهم) is: in facing their chests, so that You may repel their chests from us and come between us and them, as if You make a person a shield fighting on your behalf. The chest (nahr) is specifically mentioned because it is quicker and more powerful in repelling, and because the enemy faces with his chest during combat. The intent is to ask Allah to repel their chests, ward off their evils, suffice their affairs, and come between us and them.
