Is walking permissible inside the mosque?

There is no harm in walking through the mosque for prayer, remembrance (), reading the Qur’an, and the like. However, using it as a thoroughfare for passersby is forbidden, according to the saying of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: "Do not take mosques as thoroughfares except for remembrance or prayer."
