The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said about 'Uthman: "Should I not be shy of a man whom the angels are shy of?" This was due to his high standing with Allah and his modesty, may Allah be pleased with him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, described him as "a modest man" and "a modest, discreet man whom the angels are shy of."
