Can angels be seen by ordinary humans, and what would that mean if it were to happen?
Some people may see angels in the form of men due to divine wisdom, as happened with 'Umar, Ibn 'Abbas, and 'A'ishah, who saw Jibreel. Similarly, Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas saw Jibreel and Mika'eel at Uhud. Allah also sent an angel to a man who visited his brother out of love for Allah, and He sent an angel to the leper, the bald man, and the blind man as a test for them. The disbelievers also saw angels during battles. Seeing angels may occur, but it does not signify an increase in merit for the one who sees them, and it is not permissible to derive from them any religious rulings that contradict what we have.
