Is it permissible to sit with those who drink alcohol in a work context if that is necessary to avoid losing one's job?

It is not permissible to sit at tables where intoxicants are consumed, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him not sit at a table where intoxicants are consumed." This is because the place is one where Allah Almighty is disobeyed, and those present may remain silent about the evil or even partake in it. It is also not permissible to work in a place that necessitates violating Islamic law unless one can avoid sitting there during the time intoxicants are being consumed. It is better to seek another job. It is permissible to remain in the current job out of necessity until another job is found to cover expenses, while recalling Allah Almighty’s saying: "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him."
