How can one draw closer to Allah Almighty?

The way to draw closer to Allah is first through the obligatory acts, which are the most beloved means by which a servant can draw near to his Lord. This includes performing duties and abstaining from forbidden acts. After that comes drawing closer through supererogatory acts, which increase the servant's proximity and love for Allah, as stated in the Qudsi: "And My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than what I have made obligatory upon him. And My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory acts until I love him."
