Gabriel (peace be upon him) spoke to Muhammad (peace be upon him) without a veil and saw him in his true form. The verses and hadiths confirm this matter, including Allah's saying: (Taught him by one mighty in power), and (The Trustworthy Spirit has descended with it upon your heart), and (Say, "Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel - it is he who brought it down upon your heart by permission of Allah"). Among the proofs as well is the incident of the beginning of revelation in the Cave of Hira, where Gabriel commanded him to recite, and Al-Harith ibn Hisham's question about the manner of revelation, to which the Prophet replied that "it comes to me like the ringing of a bell" or "the angel appears to me in the form of a man and speaks to me." It is also mentioned in the long Hadith of Gabriel, in which he came in the form of a man asking the Prophet about religion, and in the incident of Al-Isra and Al-Mi'raj, where the Prophet would ask Gabriel and he would answer him, in addition to numerous hadiths in which the Prophet says, "Gabriel came to me and said..."
