What is the ruling on donating money that is mixed with unlawful (haram) gains, and is it permissible to spend from it on oneself until a new job is found, and can it be used to start a business to pay off debt?

Money taken from the father without his knowledge must be returned. This is part of perfecting one's repentance, and the mixing of unlawful money with lawful money does not cause harm. Estimating the amount suffices if its exact determination is unknown. It is preferable to confess to the father and seek his forgiveness unless a greater harm is feared. If a greater harm is feared, then it is sufficient to return his right in his money, treat him kindly, and be dutiful to him. Paying off debt takes precedence over voluntary financial acts of charity, and a woman's maintenance is from her husband or father. Praise Allah for repentance and strive in it diligently with good anticipation.
