Is the madhhab of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama‘ah to remain silent regarding the رؤية (seeing) of the Prophet (peace be upon him) of his Lord during the Isra’ and Mi‘raj, just as Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal said about the رؤية: "Pass it on as it is"? And why did Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) say: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) did not see his Lord," while the verse says: "And he certainly saw him in the highest horizon"?

Imam Ahmad's words regarding "sight" are specific to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, seeing his Lord during the Mi'raj (ascension), and this sight is restricted to the heart or is absolute without restriction to the eye. Seeing Allah the Exalted in a dream is permissible. The mentioned verse: {And he certainly saw him in the clear horizon} (Quran 81:23) or {while he was in the higher horizon} (Quran 53:7) does not mean what the questioner understood. Rather, it means that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saw Jibreel (Gabriel), peace be upon him, in his true form in the higher horizon, as stated in the exegesis of Al-Baghawi and others.
