How can one quit masturbation when there are things that make it easy to fall into, and does the matter go beyond merely getting closer to religion?

Masturbation is forbidden (haram). To help stop it, one should strengthen their faith, be sincere with Allah, increase supplication (du'a) and fasting, associate with the righteous, hasten to marry, and avoid sexual stimulants, such as using the shower to view what is forbidden.
