How can religiosity be compatible with the practice of masturbation?

The practice of masturbation is forbidden, and it is among the "transgressions" mentioned in the Qur'an. It has destructive harms and effects on the soul and body. For its treatment, marriage is recommended, and for those who cannot afford it, fasting is advised. It is also recommended to increase acts of worship, stay away from stimulants such as movies and music, occupy one's time with beneficial activities, and avoid bad company.
