What is the ruling on what some people in Egypt are doing by inciting public opinion against President Mohamed Morsi with claims such as his raising taxes on alcohol or taking a loan from the International Monetary Fund, and what is the legitimate Islamic response to their actions?

Muslims must strive to establish Allah's religion and implement His law to the best of their ability. The ruler who is presumed righteous and keen on establishing the Sharia must be supported, and evil talk about him must be refrained from, and people should not be incited against him. If someone objects to a delay in the implementation of the Sharia, it should be explained to him that the matter requires patience, gradualism, and consideration of benefits and harms, for what is demanded from a powerful ruler is not the same as what is demanded from one whose enemies are numerous. Confronting the conspiracies facing the Ummah requires wisdom and deliberation, and this approach is entrusted to the rulers whom the people have trusted. As for the enemies of Sharia, they must be warned against and their weaknesses exposed.
