Is the psychological state the questioner is experiencing, which includes feelings of sadness, inability to concentrate, loneliness, and changes in temperament, a temporary depression resulting from difficult life circumstances, or is it a mental illness that requires medical consultation, and what is the optimal solution for this condition?
The cure for anxiety and sorrow lies in seeking refuge with Allah Almighty and supplicating to Him, and in frequently remembering Allah and reciting the Quran with contemplation, for it is a healing for the hearts. Among the recommended supplications for removing anxiety and sorrow is the supplication: "O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant..." What afflicts a Muslim of difficulties is from Satan, and one should not surrender to them. The believer should know that everything that befalls him is good for him, either gratitude or patience, and that calamities expiate sins. Those suffering from psychological illnesses can seek specialized help.
