What is the ruling on repeating a certain phrase until the mind is convinced of it, such as repeating "I love studying" to be convinced of it?

Words have a significant impact on shaping a person's thoughts, emotions, and behavior. Therefore, Islamic law has emphasized controlling them, encouraging the avoidance of negative words and the use of positive ones. The repetition of positive words also affects understanding, love, and action. However, one should not rely solely on mere repetition; rather, the origin of negative thoughts must be addressed, and the resulting behavioral patterns changed. For example, changing the behavior of "avoiding studying" affects changing the thought "I am a failure" and the emotions associated with it.

It has been scientifically proven that changing behavior affects changing thoughts and emotions. The noble Sunnah of the Prophet encourages avoiding negative expressions; indeed, the Prophet (peace be upon him) never criticized any food. Therefore, avoiding negative expressions related to studying is good, and adding positive expressions is better and more excellent. The most complete approach is to strive to adopt the means of good and avoid the causes of evil and laziness.

One must rely on Allah Almighty and trust in His mercy and power, disavowing one's own strength and might. One must not rely on what is called "the power of the subconscious mind" or "the law of attraction," which claims complete control over human will. This is an exaggeration that ignores the will and decree of Allah, without which nothing occurs. Allah Almighty says: (And you do not will except that Allah wills, the Lord of the worlds).
