How is impurity removed from a dry carpet, rendering it pure again, and is it permissible to recite the Qur'an in the presence of an impurity that does not necessitate ghusl (ritual bath)?

To purify large floor coverings like carpets from impurity (najasah), water should be poured over the impure spot until it is submerged, then the contaminated water is siphoned off. This process is repeated until the substance of the impurity (ayn an-najasah) is removed, and it is overwhelmingly presumed that it has vanished. The persistence of color does not matter if the substance itself has gone. However, the impurity from a dog requires seven washes. If the impurity dries and its traces (color, taste, or smell) disappear by any means (water or other substances, or by the effect of sun and wind), then it becomes pure, provided that the substance of the impurity has been removed. A person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) is not permitted to recite the Quran. However, a junub person is not impure in their essence, and the presence of impurity on the body does not invalidate ablution (wudu) nor does it prevent the recitation of the Quran.
