What is the ruling on removing ritual impurity (najāsa) from one's clothes or body outside of prayer, and is it permissible to recite the Qur’an with clothes or a body upon which there is impurity?

Removing impurities from the body and clothes is recommendable for someone who does not intend to pray, perform tawaf, or touch the Mus'haf. It becomes obligatory when these acts are intended. It is permissible to recite the Quran for someone whose clothes or body are impure, though it is preferable to hasten to purify the clothes and body, so that the Muslim is in the most complete state when reciting the Quran. A Muslim should also promptly remove impurities immediately if their clothes or body become impure.
