ما هو فضل شهر محرم؟

The month of Muharram is a great and blessed month. It is the first month of the Hijri year and one of the sacred months mentioned in the Holy Quran and the Prophet's Sunnah. It was named Muharram (forbidden/sacred) to emphasize its sanctity. In this month, the sin of injustice is amplified, and the reward for righteous deeds is increased. It is recommended to observe many supererogatory fasts during it, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The best fasting after Ramadan is Allah's month Muharram." This indicates the virtue and greatness of this month in the sight of Allah. The preference of certain times and places religiously is due to Allah's generosity and benevolence towards His servants during them, as He multiplies the reward of those who perform good deeds.
