How should a father who does not pray or recite the Qur'an and a mother be treated, knowing that the father prevents the wearing of the niqab and threatens to burn clothes if he sees his daughter wearing it?

Treat your parents with kindness and fulfill their rights over you, while advising them in the best manner.

However, as for obeying them in removing the hijab, there is no obedience to them in that if it refers to covering the head, because it is an order to commit a universally agreed-upon evil, unless you fear severe harm such as beating or cutting off your financial support and you do not possess enough for yourself. In such cases, necessity is judged by its extent.

If it refers to covering the face, strive to convince them of its importance and that it is more protective for a woman, especially since the majority of scholars consider covering the face obligatory when there is a fear of temptation.

We pray for your parents' guidance, and we advise the father that obedience to Allah and His Messenger takes precedence. How can a Muslim command something that contradicts the command of Allah and His Messenger? This is a great evil. Allah has made it obligatory to refer to His Book and the Sunnah of His Messenger for judgment, and He has denied faith to those who turn away from the ruling of the Sacred Law. Allah Almighty says: "And when it is said to them, 'Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger,' you see the hypocrites turning away from you with aversion." {An-Nisa:61}, and He said: "But no, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you judge in what has become disputed among them and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in full submission." {An-Nisa:65}. So, let him fear Allah and be a helper to his daughter in obeying her Lord.
