Is it permissible to shave the beard based on a mosque imam's statement, where he cited the verse: "Except for him who comes to Allah with a sound heart"?
Shaving the beard is unlawful (haram), based on the hadith of Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both: "Trim the moustaches and let the beards grow." And in another narration: "Differ from the polytheists: let the beards grow and trim the moustaches." Whoever disobeys the command of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, exposes himself to tribulation or a painful punishment, as Allah, the Exalted, says: {And let those who oppose His Messenger’s (Muhammad’s SAW) commandment (among the Muslims) beware, lest some Fitnah (disbelief, trials, afflictions, earthquakes, killing, overpowered by a tyrant, etc.) befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them.} [An-Nur: 63], and He said: {And whatever the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) gives you, take it; and whatever he forbids you from, abstain (from it).} [Al-Hashr: 7]. All of the Prophet's Ummah will enter Paradise except those who refuse, and whoever disobeys him has refused.
