Are the twelve rak'ahs prayed daily as supererogatory prayers—four rak'ahs before Dhuhr, two before Asr, two after Maghrib, and two after Isha, in addition to two extra rak'ahs—considered part of the "twelve rak'ahs" mentioned by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in his saying: "Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs in a day and night, a house will be built for him in Paradise thereby"?

If the questioner, our sister, means by "vowed rak'ahs" the regular Sunnah (definition) prayers, which are: four before Dhuhr and two after it, and two rak'ahs after Maghrib, and two rak'ahs after Isha, and two rak'ahs before Fajr prayer, then she must fulfill this vow. It is also sunnah for her to perform the remaining regular Sunnah prayer, which is two rak'ahs after Dhuhr. However, if she means something other than the Sunnah prayers, she must fulfill her vow and is encouraged to perform the regular Sunnah prayers as a sunnah.
