Is the contraceptive implant considered to break the fast in Ramadan, and must it be removed before it begins?

The contraceptive capsule is a medicine placed under the skin that releases hormones to reduce the chances of ovum fertilization. It does not invalidate the fast of a fasting person because it is not food or drink, nor does it carry their meaning, and it is not taken orally. The resolution of the Islamic Fiqh Academy stipulated that what enters the body through absorption from the skin does not break the fast.
