Is admiration forbidden?

Admiration (I'jaab) is when a person sees his own work and admires it, deeming it great and abundant. It is close to arrogance (kibr), which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, explained as "rejecting the truth and despising people." Both are blameworthy characteristics and forbidden in Islamic law.
