What is the reality of trust in Allah and how do we trust Him?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Linguistically, "trust" (ثقة) means reliance. Scholars define it as one of the definitions of tawakkul (reliance on Allah), encompassing tranquility and serenity with Allah. Trust in Allah means that the heart is not attached to what is in the hands of people, but rather trusts in what is in the hand of Allah Almighty, with certainty that Allah does not break His promise and that He is capable of all things. It also includes belief in His decree and destiny. Thus, whoever trusts in Allah does not despair in times of poverty and affliction, nor does he become arrogant in times of wealth and well-being.
