Is expiation incumbent for the nine days whose make-up was delayed after becoming aware of the Sharia ruling, until Ramadan began?

If the delay in making up the fasts was due to ignorance of its impermissibility, then there is nothing upon you except to make them up. As for the days whose make-up you intentionally delayed until the next Ramadan arrived, then you must offer expiation by feeding one poor person for each day.
