Does the son's obedience to his mother in preventing him from having marital relations with his wife make it permissible for the wife to seek divorce?

A husband must not refrain from engaging in sexual intercourse with his wife for a period that would cause her harm. This is because it falls under the benevolent companionship that Allah has commanded and serves to keep the wife chaste. Whoever refrains from doing so is disobedient, and there is no obedience to anyone in disobedience to the Creator. He must either keep her chaste or divorce her. If the husband refrains from engaging in sexual intercourse with his wife, she is permitted to request a divorce.
