What is the ruling regarding a wife or daughter who does not adhere to wearing the abaya and niqab? And is her non-adherence considered disobedience to her parents if the mother encourages her to do so? And is wearing the abaya and niqab obligatory, permissible, or preferable? And will the father or husband be held accountable for his wife's or daughter's non-adherence to the niqab and abaya? And what should the husband do if his wife, who does not wear the niqab and abaya, disobeys him?

A girl must cover her body when she reaches the age of menstruation. Scholars have agreed on the obligation to cover the face and hands when there is fear of temptation (fitna). A daughter's disobedience to her father regarding covering her body and wearing the niqab is considered an act of 'uquq (disrespect/disobedience to parents). The father must rectify his daughter and prevent her from what Allah has forbidden. If the wife encourages the daughter to abandon the niqab and body covering, she is considered a nashiz (rebellious wife), and she must be admonished, then forsaken in bed, then lightly beaten (without causing injury). Divorce is not obligatory, and the husband must weigh the benefits against the harms.
