Is it permissible to cut ties with friends who mock and ridicule the committed (religious person), and is that considered a sin that prevents the acceptance of good deeds?

Steadfastness in obedience and sincere repentance necessitate abandoning bad companions and associating with good people who aid in obedience, just as Allah Almighty commanded His Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, to keep company with those who invoke their Lord. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, elucidated the importance of a righteous companion, and that sitting with evil people harms one's self. Therefore, one must avoid bad companions who mock and hinder from the path of Allah. This is not out of enmity, but rather a severance of harmful companionship, while it is permissible to greet them and invite them to repentance, avoiding animosity that prevents forgiveness.
