Must a debt be deducted from the zakat on crops before it is given?

Crops and fruits are considered visible assets. The majority of jurists hold that debt does not nullify the equivalent portion of zakatable visible wealth that meets the conditions. However, if the debts were incurred for the purpose of cultivating, planting, and harvesting this particular crop, then it is permissible to deduct the debt resulting from these causes from the total zakatable wealth.
