It is recommended for a Muslim to purify himself when going to prayer, so as not to cause harm to the angels and the worshippers. The prayer of one who sweats is valid, but if the sweat of workers reaches a level that causes harm to others, it is permissible to advise them to stand behind the people. The basis for the disapproval of someone with a foul odor coming to the mosque is what was narrated in Sahih Muslim from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever eats from this plant should not approach our mosques until its odor disappears," meaning garlic. Everything with a foul odor is akin to garlic and onions, such as someone with bad breath. These odors are considered valid excuses for not attending congregational prayer.
