Why is the prayer of a wife who harms her husband affected, while the prayer of a husband who mistreats his wife is not, even though the sin is the same?

The punishment for a woman who refuses her husband's bed can be understood by the fact that a man's need and patience for intercourse is less than a woman's. Although there is no specific text outlining a punishment for a husband if he displeases his wife, this does not mean there is no punishment, and his punishment might even be more severe. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against neglecting the rights of the two vulnerable ones: the orphan and the woman, and that Allah takes revenge on those who oppress them. A husband must ensure his wife's chastity with kindness, as this is among her most emphasized rights upon him. Jurists have agreed on the obligation for the husband to have intercourse with his wife in a befitting manner, and that preventing a wife from intercourse is considered harmful to her.
