What should a husband do who secretly married a Jewish girl who converted to Islam, given his family's rejection of this marriage, and his fear of his wife changing, becoming remiss in her religious obligations, and inclining towards her non-Muslim mother?

Marriage secretly and without announcement is impermissible, as it makes it akin to fornication. Marriage must take place in the presence of the woman's guardian (wali), and a disbeliever has no guardianship over a Muslim woman. If a woman converts to Islam and has no Muslim guardian, then the ruler (Sultan) or his representative, or the head of the Islamic Center, or the Imam of the mosque, or a scholar, or a just Muslim with her permission, shall undertake her marriage. However, if the woman was not Muslim at the time of the contract, her non-Muslim guardian must undertake her marriage. The contract must be rectified in all cases with the presence of the correct guardian.
