What is the method for repaying an amount that was disbursed to the employer, given the current financial inability to repay?

You must sincerely repent to Allah Almighty by seeking forgiveness, feeling remorse, and resolving not to return to the sin. This money is a firmly established right that remains your responsibility; it is not nullified by the passage of time, and you are not absolved of it except by returning it to its owners or by their absolving you. If you are unable to return it now, it remains a debt upon you until you are able to do so, and you must resolve to return it whenever you can. When returning it, if you fear harm, you can return the money discreetly in a way that does not bring disgrace upon you, such as saying, "This money is from someone who wronged you and then repented."
