How does one repent from the sins of a wedding and engagement that included Shar’i violations such as music and photography? Is regret and repentance sufficient when it is not possible to remove the disseminated photos? Is the presence of mixing and dancing among relatives considered dayatha (lack of protective jealousy)? What about the wife's desire to keep some photos for remembrance? And how can one deal with future weddings that contain Shar’i violations when compelled to attend?

A Muslim must perform sincere repentance (tawbah nasuh) for holding a party that included forbidden acts, and rectify what he caused to the best of his ability.

"Dayouthah" (cuckoldry) is the lack of protective jealousy over one's female family members. So, whoever condones his female family members dancing at mixed parties is a dayouth. The required jealousy is the moderate, Sharia-compliant jealousy.

It is not permissible to keep pictures of the mixed party for memory, nor is it permissible to attend relatives' weddings that include forbidden acts unless it is possible to avoid seeing and hearing the forbidden acts.
