Could Zechariah not speak for three days or three nights?

Based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿seven nights and eight days﴾, the verses that mention the duration during which Zachariah (peace be upon him) was unable to speak, namely: (Al Imran: 41) and (Maryam: 10), indicate that the intended meaning is three days with their nights.
