Cartoon films that contain forbidden matters or concepts that contradict Islam are not permissible to watch, especially for children, due to the corrupting influence they have on their beliefs and minds. However, if they are free from these corrupting influences and contain legitimate benefits, then their permissibility is the most preponderant view. Science fiction films often include a distortion of religious and scientific facts, such as claiming the ability to bring the dead back to life or travel through time, which is impossible and negatively affects the viewers' minds. Furthermore, Western films often depict superpowers controlling the universe, which is a grave transgression.
