Is earning money from working in an advertising company permissible or impermissible, where the number of distributed printed copies is inflated, companies are pressured to advertise in the name of government entities, and huge sums are paid to government entities in exchange for authorization, knowing that the magazines are only distributed to subscribers and the remaining copies are disposed of?

If the work of an advertising company is based on lies, extortion, unlawfully consuming people's wealth, and squandering money, then it is legally forbidden, based on Allah's saying: "And do not consume your properties among yourselves wrongfully." Wrongfulness includes everything that is not permissible in Islamic law, such as deception, lying, bribery, and theft. Those working in such companies must repent immediately and cease this forbidden work. It is not permissible for a Muslim to work in advertising for forbidden things, such as usurious banks or promoting images of unveiled women.
