Is the wife sinful because her husband divorced her and abandoned her and her children after he discovered that her parents had adopted her, knowing that she is religious and of good character, and her adoptive parents have passed away, and she tries not to use their family name? Does Islam reject people like her?

The Noble Qur'anic verses: (That no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another. And that man can have nothing but what he strives for) [An-Najm: 39-40], declare that a person is not held accountable for a sin they did not commit. The name should be changed to so-and-so, daughter of Abdullah or Abdul Rahman, unless this leads to harm or difficulties. If the name is not changed, then it must be avoided in any legal document pertaining to the family she is attributed to, such as inheritance and mahramiyyah (unmarriageable kin).
