How do parents raise a child to become a leader in the future, mentioning examples from the Companions and the Pious Predecessors?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

A person with a leadership personality possesses qualities such as knowledge and physical strength, as evidenced by Allah's saying in describing Talut: ﴿Indeed, Allah has chosen him over you and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and physical stature.﴾ Among other qualities are strong personality, decisiveness, wisdom, courage, and patience. To raise a child to be a leader, one should read the biographies of leaders and learn about their lives to be influenced by them, such as Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and other leaders from among the Companions and their Successors. It is also necessary to raise the child to aim for high matters and to entrust some of them to him to manage, in addition to reading specialized books on upbringing and consulting experts.
