What is the Sharia ruling on continuing a marriage to a young man she had contracted marriage with before her travel, and then it became clear to her that he is disobedient to his parents, a smoker, and does not observe prayers on time, bearing in mind that she no longer loves him and feels guilty towards him?
You rushed into marriage. A good choice and seeking a man of religious commitment and good character are among the most important factors for a stable marriage. Such a man is more likely to honor his wife. Al-Tirmidhi narrated from Abu Hatim Al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: «If someone whose religious commitment and character you approve comes to you, then marry him. If you do not do so, there will be tribulation on earth and great corruption.» It was narrated from Al-Hasan Al-Basri that he said: "Marry her to a man who fears Allah, for if he loves her, he will honor her, and if he dislikes her, he will not wrong her." Prayer is the pillar of religion; whoever neglects it is even more negligent of other things. If the husband repents to Allah and becomes righteous, then that is good. Otherwise, ask him for a divorce, for transgression is one of the justifications for seeking divorce. Divorce before consummation is easier. Do not pay attention to the fact that he loves you if he is deviant.
