What should a Muslim do if he suspects the presence of a paper bearing the name of Allah in a certain place, and is he obligated to search for it with excessive scrutiny, or is it sufficient to sweep the place, knowing that he is not certain of the paper's existence?

Glorifying the name of Allah Almighty is an obligation and a part of glorifying the rituals of Allah. However, this must be within the legal objectives that alleviate hardship and difficulty for the servants, for religion is ease. Over-strictness in this matter may lead to reprehensible obsessive whispering (waswasah) which opens the door to hardship and difficulty. Therefore, it is sufficient to preserve, burn, or bury anything containing the name of Allah, without excessive scrutiny or searching, for those who are excessively scrutinizing and meticulous are doomed.
