Can a woman menstruate three times in a month?

The majority of scholars hold that the minimum period of purity (Tuhr) between two menstrual cycles is fifteen days, and the minimum duration of menstruation (Hayd) is one day and one night. Therefore, it is inconceivable for menstruation to occur three times in a single month. However, according to the Hanbali school, who state that the minimum purity period is thirteen days, this is possible: a woman could menstruate for one day and one night, then be pure for thirteen days, then menstruate for one day and one night, then be pure for thirteen days, then menstruate for one day and one night. The same applies to the Maliki school, who believe that the minimum menstruation is a single flow, and there is no time limit for its minimum duration.
