The answer

The issue of a woman being alone with a male doctor is a difficult and important one. A woman must be cautious and not be in seclusion with a doctor, nor should a doctor be in seclusion with her. A woman should seek out sufficient female doctors, and if they are available, there is no need for a male doctor. However, if there is a need for a male doctor due to the unavailability of female doctors, there is no objection, out of necessity, to examination and treatment, but without seclusion. Her or her husband should be with her if the examination pertains to an apparent matter. If it pertains to private parts, then her husband or another woman (like a nurse) should be with her.
